Job Description

Assistant Project Manager - Commercial Construction If you're early in your project management career and want more than just pushing paperwork, this is a good opportunity to actually learn how projects get built from the inside out. I'm working with a prominent Bozeman area commercial general contractor that's looking to bring on an Assistant Project Manager to support and grow alongside experienced PMs and field teams. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in the full lifecycle of projects—not just one piece of it. What you'll be doing You'll work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to help keep projects on track—handling the details that make everything run smoothly while learning how decisions are made at a higher level. Support projects from preconstruction through closeout Help manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation Assist with subcontractor coordination and communication Track budgets, change orders, and project costs Stay involved with scheduling and project updates Communicate with clients, design teams, and internal staff Spend time both in the office and on-site to understand how things come together in the field What they're looking for 1-5 years of experience in commercial construction (APM, Project Engineer, or similar) Basic understanding of construction processes and documentation Organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep multiple things moving at once Comfortable communicating with different personalities—field and office Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field is helpful but not required What you'll get out of it Real exposure to how projects are run—not just a support role Mentorship from experienced PMs and field leaders A clear path into a full Project Manager role Stable pipeline of commercial work and a team that keeps things practical Compensation includes base salary, bonus potential, and full benefits. If you're at the point where you want to learn faster and take on more responsibility, this is a solid next step. Apply online or send your resume to Kenna Warren at kenna.warren@gogpac.com .
