Project Manager Job Description We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in construction management to lead and consult on a range of complex projects. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities, be adept at nurturing relationships, and have a keen eye for detail in managing budgets and schedules. Responsibilities Lead and consult with field project managers, general contractors, and owners to ensure successful project completion. Manage pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling processes. Foster strong relationships with general contractors and subcontractors to ensure project timelines and budgets are met. Take ownership and accountability for projects, solving complex schedule and budget issues. Review and approve project budgets to determine resource allocation. Negotiate subcontractor contracts and manage agreements with external vendors. Oversee project finances, including profitability and cash flow. Provide indirect leadership to construction crews and resolve design conflicts. Lead strategic planning and manage project submittal, request for information, and change order processes. Implement monthly cost reports and ensure accurate cost projections. Recognize and resubmit change orders as necessary. Approve payment of supplier and subcontractor invoices. Ensure adherence to health and safety standards and report any issues. Utilize Bluebeam software and Procore Management programs effectively. Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures and regulations. Essential Skills Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Consistent dependability and availability. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction office environment. Strong organizational skills for document management. Aptitude for learning new systems. Mechanical knowledge and project management experience. Ability to train estimating staff on project management technical aspects. Understanding of company resource production capabilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 10+ years of related experience and/or training in leading large multi-million-dollar complex construction projects. Experience in data center projects is a plus. Work Environment The role is based in a dynamic, fast-paced construction office environment where collaboration and communication are key. The project manager will work closely with a diverse range of professionals, including engineers and architects, to ensure project specifications are met. The position requires flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a focus on safety and quality standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Apex, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $57.00 - $86.00/hr.
