Job Description

About the role Herrington Homes of the Carolinas is a custom luxury home builder serving the Asheville area. We're looking for a sharp, dependable Operations Coordinator to be a key support to our leadership team and keep our projects and office running smoothly. This is a hands-on operations role at the center of the business. You'll keep schedules tight, inspections and vendors on track, and our project files clean and current. If you like being the person who makes sure nothing slips through the cracks, you'll do well here. We're starting this position at 30 hours a week, with a clear path to full-time around the six-month mark for the right person. We're looking for someone who wants to grow with us, not just fill a seat. What you'll do
  • Scheduling:
Coordinate calendars for company leadership, schedule client appointments, and set up project meetings and site walkthroughs so everyone's day runs on time.
  • Inspections & permits: Assist with local residential building permit applications and schedule inspections, keeping projects moving without delays.
  • Vendor & jobsite logistics: Coordinate jobsite setups, order dumpsters and specific building materials, and keep vendor communication flowing.
  • Operations support: Act as an operational right hand to leadership — track follow-ups, research vendors and pricing, and keep day-to-day tasks from falling behind.
  • Files & light bookkeeping: Maintain project files and subcontractor paperwork, and assist with light bookkeeping such as tracking receipts and entering invoices (we'll train you on our systems). What we're looking for
  • Highly organized, with strong follow-through and genuine attention to detail.
  • Calm and steady under interruption — comfortable juggling competing priorities without losing track.
  • Trustworthy and discreet, especially with financial and confidential information.
  • A clear, professional communicator with clients, vendors, and the team.
  • Comfortable learning new software — we use QuickBooks Online, Google Workspace, and project-management tools.
  • Dependable and self-directed — able to own tasks without being chased. Nice to have (not required)
  • Bookkeeping or accounting exposure. We'll train, but a head start helps.
  • Construction, trades, or project-coordination background, or familiarity with JobTread or QuickBooks Online.
  • Some comfort with social media or light marketing — the occasional update or project photo. A plus, not a core part of the role. Hours, pay & benefits
  • 30 hours per week to start, with a path to full-time around the six-month mark based on performance.
  • $24-$26 per hour, depending on experience.
  • Flexible schedule — we'll work with you to set hours that fit.
  • Paid time off that accrues with hours worked, plus paid company holidays. Transitions to unlimited PTO upon reaching full-time.
  • Health insurance available upon transition to full-time — the company pays 80% of the premium.
  • In-office position in Arden, NC.
