The Bobbitt Group is a 100% Employee-Owned commercial and industrial general contractor building in the Carolinas. Building on that foundation, we are excited to offer a 120-hour Junior Internship designed to give high school students hands-on, real-world exposure to a professional construction and corporate environment. This internship introduces students to careers in construction, project management, business operations, and the trades while building practical workplace skills. Each Junior Intern is paired with a supervisor who provides mentorship, guidance, and regular feedback. Roles & Responsibilities:
Assist team members with administrative and project support tasks such as filing, data entry, organizing documents, and preparing materials. Observe and participate in department activities to learn how a commercial and industrial general contractor operates. Support meeting preparation, including gathering materials and taking notes. Help maintain organized workspaces, files, and project records. Complete assigned learning projects and present key takeaways at the end of the internship. Communicate professionally and respectfully with employees, supervisors, and visitors. Follow all Bobbitt safety guidelines and procedures at all times, especially in jobsite or shop settings.
Required Knowledge, Experience & Competencies :
Currently enrolled as a high school student (junior standing or as defined by your school program). Reliable, punctual, and eager to learn, with a positive and professional attitude. Able to follow instructions, ask questions, and work well as part of a team. Basic computer skills (email and word processing) are helpful but not required. A genuine interest in construction, business, or the trades is a plus.
Work format:
This is an in-person internship totaling 120 hours. The schedule is arranged with the intern's supervisor and school program coordinator. Location and department assignment are based on availability and the intern's interests.
Travel requirements:
Minimal travel; any local travel to a jobsite or company event is arranged and supervised by Bobbitt staff Physical requirements: May occasionally require lifting and moving objects up to 25 lbs.
