Job Description
Job OverviewAn engineering consulting firm is seeking a Stormwater Project Manager to join its Charlotte‑based stormwater and water resources practice. This role is suited for a seasoned stormwater professional who can manage complex projects, oversee technical delivery, and lead teams while working closely with clients on long‑term stormwater and watershed initiatives across North Carolina and the surrounding region.
Key ResponsibilitiesManage stormwater programs and projects from early planning through final delivery, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality standardsOversee technical work related to stormwater systems, watershed studies, drainage infrastructure, flood risk reduction, and environmental and regulatory requirementsCoordinate with internal multidisciplinary teams to develop effective and sustainable engineering solutionsServe as a primary point of contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring clear communication throughout project executionProvide technical direction and project oversight to engineers and designers, reviewing work for accuracy and complianceMentor and support junior staff, contributing to team development and a collaborative office cultureMonitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and contract administrationBalance multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and client expectationsQualifications and ExperienceBachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experienceMinimum of seven (7) years of experience in stormwater or water resources engineeringLicensed Professional Engineer (PE)Demonstrated experience managing projects and leading or mentoring technical teamsStrong understanding of project delivery, scheduling, and financial managementExperience working with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools such as HEC‑RAS, SWMM, or similar software is preferredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently while contributing to a team‑oriented environment
