Project Manager Job Description A leading pharmaceutical organization is seeking an experienced Project Manager to coordinate an exciting greenfield project, expanding upon current facilities locally. This role involves exploring, mapping, and identifying program gaps between work packages, establishing remediation plans, and coordinating between work package areas and the execution schedule. Responsibilities Identify, develop, and manage interface agreements between the central team, local site, work packages vendors, and functional areas to include milestones and schedules. Create detailed project plans and business cases suitable for presentation to leadership. Coordinate program level and local stakeholders for coordination and discovery efforts to close program gaps. Provide periodic project status updates, identifying current risk assessments and mitigation of risks. Collaborate extensively within the network to gain best practices and specifications that will transfer to the local site. Ensure installation, troubleshooting, qualification, and validation of buildings and equipment meet all project commitments. Lead and manage the execution of capital projects according to company policies and procedures. Work with outside design firms to bring projects from conceptual design phase to execution. Maintain effective communication and ensure alignment in coordination with multiple project teams. Manage major milestones, schedules, and monthly cost plans through Clarity PEM process. Handle stakeholder management and communications to management, project team, and other involved units. Manage project change control process to ensure project remains within defined scope, budget, and schedule. Track project performance, metrics, and KPIs. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education. Advanced Project Management competencies obtained through relevant PM training or experience. Minimum five years of engineering experience in facility infrastructure and manufacturing in a pharmaceutical environment. Minimum five years of proven project/portfolio management skills with major capital projects. Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with a basic understanding of P&ID, HVAC, and electrical systems. Understanding of complicated product documentation and standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts. Working knowledge/experience of building and utility equipment. Superior written and oral communication skills. Extensive knowledge of project management. Proficiency at problem solving, negotiation, conflict management, and interpersonal skills. Leadership skills; can act as project lead and lead cross-functional project teams. Basic understanding of contractual documents and ability to create work plans and detailed project schedules. Proven project management experience with direct management of multiple projects simultaneously. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with greenfield start-up operations, preferably with finished production (Assembly/Packaging). Experience in pharmaceutical project management, implementations, and process improvements. Demonstrates functional/business understanding. Develops and maintains strong internal relationships. Ability to influence others on objectives and project outcomes. Proven expertise in mentoring/development, planning/organizing, managing execution, and revising work plans for complex problems. Initiative, ability to function independently. Good judgment in decision-making and strong leadership skills. Must function well in a team environment. Work Environment The Project Manager will work onsite five days a week, with the potential for periodic hybrid work based on project needs. The role involves direct customer contact and requires flexibility in working hours as different needs arise. The individual will be based in an office building and will visit the construction site and current facilities to meet with different project stakeholders. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Clayton, NC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
