The Project Manager will assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to the construction of structures, facilities, and/or systems. Position interacts with college staff, contracted design firms, contractors, and state and local authorities to carry out the college's vision as it relates to facilities in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner. Position provides guidance in procedures and methods required by the NC State Construction Office and NCCCS Capital Project division. Example of Duties Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in planning, directing, and coordinating activities related to construction of structures, facilities, and/or systems. Assist in oversite of construction and scheduling of capital projects to ensure the project is constructed in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner. Participate in project stakeholder activities to assist in the design discussion of construction projects and/or renovation projects. Assist in evaluation of project specifications to determine appropriate construction methods. Assist in ensuring the project is constructed and documented in accordance with the contract documents and good engineering practices. Assist in the inspection and review of construction projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other regulations. Make recommendations regarding contracts and revisions as well as changes and additions to contractual agreements.
