This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with all applicable regulations and company standards. The Project Manager serves as the primary point of contact for customers, field operations, subcontractors, and internal teams while driving operational excellence and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities - Project Planning & Execution Manage crane, rigging, heavy lift, and specialized transportation projects from inception through completion. Review project specifications, lift plans, engineering drawings, and customer requirements. Develop project schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies. Coordinate crane selection, rigging requirements, transportation logistics, permits, and site access. Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, staffing, or operational challenges. Ensure all project deliverables are completed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements. Safety & Compliance Promote and maintain a strong safety culture in alignment with company policies and OSHA regulations. Conduct site visits and risk assessments to identify potential hazards. Ensure lift plans, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and safety documentation are completed and reviewed. Verify compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to crane operations, rigging, transportation, and permitting. Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions as needed. Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary customer contact throughout project execution. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, engineers, and vendors. Attend pre-construction meetings, project planning sessions, and job site coordination meetings. Communicate project status, schedule updates, and potential risks to stakeholders. Resolve customer concerns and ensure high levels of client satisfaction. Financial Management Develop project estimates and assist with proposal preparation. Manage project budgets, costs, and profitability. Review labor, equipment, subcontractor, and material expenses. Approve invoices and monitor project billing. Identify opportunities for change orders and additional revenue. Resource Coordination Coordinate crane operators, riggers, drivers, field supervisors, and subcontractors. Schedule equipment, personnel, and support resources to meet project requirements. Collaborate with dispatch, operations, and maintenance teams to ensure equipment availability and readiness. Support workforce planning and utilization efforts. Documentation & Reporting Maintain accurate project records, schedules, contracts, permits, and safety documentation. Prepare project reports, status updates, and closeout documentation. Track project KPIs including safety, schedule adherence, equipment utilization, and profitability. Ensure all project files are complete and properly archived. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field; equivalent industry experience may be considered. 5+ years of project management experience in crane services, rigging, heavy hauling, industrial construction, or related industries. Strong understanding of crane operations, rigging practices, lift planning, and transportation logistics. Knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices. Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Preferred NCCCO certification or familiarity with NCCCO standards. Experience with engineered lift plans and critical lift operations. PMP certification is preferred, not required Experience in industrial, power generation, petrochemical, manufacturing, or infrastructure projects. Knowledge of permitting requirements for oversized and overweight loads.
