AVA has over 80 combined years of experience developing, integrating & operationally deploying defense platforms for use across US, joint, coalition & partner networks and platforms. We specialize in developing cloud-native, cross-platform, system-of-systems software applications that enable us to deliver differentiated products that are rapidly deployable across echelons & warfighting functions throughout the Department of War (DoW). Role Description AVA Technologies is seeking a Project Management Intern to support administrative operations and proposal development efforts. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced, mission-driven defense technology environment. You will work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to help keep internal operations organized and contribute to the development of high-quality proposals and contract deliverables for government and defense customers. This position offers exposure to business operations, technical programs, and the defense contracting lifecycle. AVA values in-person collaboration, and this role is based at AVA Technologies' HQ in Southern Pines, NC. Interns are expected to work onsite during standard business hours to maximize collaboration, learning opportunities, and direct engagement with team members and leadership.
What You'll Do:
Administrative Support:
Assist with scheduling, meeting coordination, documentation, and general office operations.
Proposal Development:
Support the preparation, formatting, and editing of proposals, white papers, and capability statements.
Contract Deliverables:
Assist in preparing and organizing contract deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
Status Reporting:
Support the development of monthly status reports, including gathering inputs, formatting, and tracking progress against milestones.
Research & Analysis:
Conduct market and customer research to inform proposal content and strategic initiatives.
Document Management:
Organize and maintain files, templates, and internal documentation for easy access and reuse.
Cross-Team Coordination:
Collaborate with technical and business teams to gather inputs for proposals, deliverables, and reports.
Editing & Proofreading:
Review documents for clarity, consistency, and professionalism.
Process Support:
Help improve administrative and proposal workflows to increase efficiency.
Qualifications:
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, English, Public Policy, or a related field. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Highly organized with strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Interest in government contracting, defense technology, or proposal writing.
Bonus Points:
Experience with writing, editing, or research (academic or professional). Familiarity with proposal development or government contract deliverables (e.g., reports, documentation). Exposure to tools like Point, Confluence, or similar collaboration platforms. Interest in national security or defense-related work.
