Job Description

Project Manager - Commercial & Institutional Construction An established commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the planning, financial oversight, and successful delivery of large-scale commercial and institutional construction projects. About the Opportunity This organization specializes in institutional and public-sector construction, including K-12 education, higher education, municipal, public safety, office, and other commercial projects. Typical project values range from $20M to over $100M. Position Summary The Project Manager will oversee the administrative, operational, and financial success of assigned projects from preconstruction through closeout. This individual will work closely with owners, architects, subcontractors, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage projects through all phases from startup to closeout Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting Prepare and manage owner pay applications Negotiate and administer subcontract agreements Oversee RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documentation Monitor schedules and coordinate with field leadership to maintain project progress Identify and mitigate project risks proactively Lead meetings with owners, architects, and subcontractors Coordinate closeout activities including training, warranties, and turnover documentation Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred 5+ years of Project Management experience within commercial construction Experience with K-12, higher education, municipal, or public-sector projects strongly preferred Strong understanding of budgeting, scheduling, contract administration, and project controls Proven experience managing projects ranging from $10M to $100M+ Proficiency with Procore, Microsoft Office, and related construction management software Strong communication, leadership, and negotiation skills Ideal Background The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven construction professional who takes ownership of project outcomes and understands the complexities of institutional construction. INDTFG Pay:
$120,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
