Job Summary The Senior Project Manager I is responsible for leading medium-to-large projects of moderate complexity. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to organizational standards, while providing structure and oversight to day-to-day project execution. The Senior Project Manager I operates within established frameworks and serves as the primary point of coordination across functional teams, escalating higher-level risks or issues as needed. Responsibilities Essential Functions Develops project charters, plans, schedules, and budgets. Manages day-to-day execution of projects, monitoring performance against objectives Coordinates resources across functional teams and ensure alignment with goals Identify and escalate project risks, issues, and dependencies Prepare and deliver regular status updates to stakeholders Ensure compliance with established project management methodologies and standards Continues growth in the professional area of project management through development and maintenance of professional peer networking and consumption of educational materials Develops and maintains strong and collaborative partnerships with employee owners to execute on approved business initiatives, serving as a leader through open and transparent communication and facilitation activities to ensure successful, value additive engagement Creates and delivers presentations in various formats to various audience, including executive leadership Provides mentorship to other Strategy Enablement project managers Non-essential Functions Drives continuous evaluation and improvement of the Strategy Enablement processes to align with industry best practices and Border States needs Continues educational growth in areas of service and product industries Border States engages Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or designate. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. 5+ years of project management experience as the lead project manager. 1+ years' experience presenting to executive leadership. PMP or equivalent certification preferred. Strong foundational skills in planning, risk management, and stakeholder communication. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Project), internet, and email. Skills and Abilities Advanced oral, written and presentation skills. Advanced negotiation and facilitation skills. Ability to identify, develop and execute strategies necessary to for project success, including but not limited to project team interaction, status and escalation, and execution strategies. Ability to receive and act on feedback and coaching, as well as providing coaching to other project managers. Ability to review and refine statements of work and contracts to support project success Ability to work independently. Excellent customer service skills include being competent, accurate, responsive, and engaged. Physical Requirements Frequency at which you would carry/lift in a typical day: Occasionally 0
