Job Description

Job Summary:
As an Assistant Project Manager (APM), you will support the Project Management team in coordinating day-to-day job site activities and ensuring projects continue to move forward efficiently. Working under the direction of one or more Project Managers, this role is hands-on and fast-paced, requiring strong follow-through, responsiveness, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed. The APM will assist in maintaining communication between subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams while gaining exposure to all phases of the construction process. This position is designed as a developmental role, providing the opportunity to learn the full project lifecycle and grow into a Project Manager position over time.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Visit multiple job sites daily to observe construction progress, safety, and quality, and report updates to Project Managers Assist Project Managers in coordinating schedules, subcontractors, and materials to support project timelines Support communication between subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams as directed Help ensure work aligns with company standards, project specifications, and local building codes Assist in identifying and communicating construction conflicts or delays so they can be addressed quickly Review project documents (blueprints, specifications, change orders, and addendums) to build understanding of the project scope Participate in site walkthroughs and inspections to support quality control and job site standards Assist with change activities, ensuring proper communication and documentation Help ensure required documentation is completed and organized, including permits, inspections, and closeout materials Support a culture of safety on every job site and follow all safety protocols Participate in safety meetings, training sessions, and field safety audits Assist with punch list completion, final inspections, and turnover processes Support a smooth handoff to homeowners by helping ensure homes meet quality expectations Build and maintain positive working relationships with team members, subcontractors, and vendors Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all times Take direction from Project Managers and execute tasks with a high level of accountability and follow-through
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Ability to take direction, execute efficiently, and follow through on assigned responsibilities Strong problem-solving mindset with a willingness to ask questions and learn Basic understanding of home construction (or strong interest in learning) Ability to read and begin interpreting blueprints (or willingness to develop this skill) Adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams Proficiency with construction management software and digital tools is a plus Must possess a valid driver's license
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Construction Science, Construction Management a plus but not required. 1-2 years of construction experience, preferably in residential homebuilding.
Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
