Job Description:
The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) is currently seeking a Project Manager to join its Strategy, Planning, and Optimization (SPO) team. The Project Manager is responsible for working with stakeholders to analyze and document business needs and processes, organize around problem/opportunity, plan and remediate troubled projects, and ensure new initiatives are planned, launched, and executed correctly. The Project Manager will need to become familiar and build relationships with other departments, roles, and processes to ensure success in this role. Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategy, Planning, and Optimization (SPO), or the Manager, Continuous Improvement, the Project Manager has the following primary responsibilities: Work with project consultants and project teams to define and document project scope. Ensure project site(s) are set up and maintained with all project-related materials. Develop comprehensive project plans in MS Project Server to monitor and track progress. Coordinate with project consultants and other project team leads to identify interdependencies between projects. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors. Coordinate development of spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps to document needs. Coordinate test planning as defined within the program and projects. Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques. Communicate changes and potential impacts across projects and help facilitate remediation and resolution when needed. Manage project action items and decision logs. Perform risk management to minimize project risks and help facilitate timely resolution of issues and risks to keep the project/overall program moving forward. Produce and update project status reports to include identified risks and resolutions. Issue status reports on a timely basis. Measure project performance using appropriate tools and techniques. Proactively communicate status and progress to all stakeholders to ensure everyone remains on the same page. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of three years of project management experience managing multiple, large, cross-functional teams, projects, and/or multiple workstreams. The successful incumbent will have strong analytical skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as to work collaboratively across the organization. Strong facilitation skills and the ability to proactively coordinate problem solving and resolutions quickly will be critical success factors.
