Project Interface Manager

Anticipated Start Date 5/11/2026 Location Linden, NJ Type of Employment Contract Hire Employer Info Our client is an engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) services company supporting complex industrial and energy-sector projects. They work closely with utility and infrastructure clients, providing project execution, administrative oversight, and specialized management support across the full project lifecycle. Our client frequently partners with external agencies to supplement staffing needs for large-scale, time-bound projects. Job Summary The Project Interface Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating all technical, functional, and schedule interfaces between the EPC contractor, subcontractors, vendors, and third parties. This role ensures clear communication, proper documentation, and timely resolution of interface issues to prevent scope gaps, schedule delays, and rework. The position works closely with the Site/Construction Manager, General Superintendent, Commissioning Manager, and Document Control Specialist to support efficient project execution and successful system handovers. Job Description Collaborate with the EPC Contractor to develop and maintain the interface management plan and interface register within the document control system. Identify and track key technical, schedule, and functional interfaces among EPC Contractor, subcontractors, vendors, and third parties. Assist EPC Contractor in facilitating cross-discipline meetings to monitor and resolve interface issues. Coordinate with engineering and construction teams to ensure timely handoff of deliverables. Escalate critical interface risks to the Site/Construction Manager and Project Controls Manager. Support commissioning activities, including interface coordination and system handovers. Document, track, and verify resolution of all interface points prior to project turnover. Skills Required Minimum of 20 years of experience in project management and industrial site construction, including interface coordination management. Strong verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation, including: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Piping Plans and Elevations Piping Isometrics Strong interface coordination and project management skills Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and stakeholders Education/Training/Certifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent work experience.
