Mechanical Project Manager - Concrete ConstructionJob Description The Mechanical Project Manager oversees multiple concrete construction projects from initial handoff through completion and closeout, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. This role manages all aspects of concrete work, including foundations, slabs, structural concrete, sitework, and flatwork, while coordinating closely with field teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders. The position offers a clear path for long-term growth into a senior project management role. Responsibilities + Manage multiple concrete construction projects, including foundations, slabs, structural concrete, sitework, and flatwork. + Oversee the full project lifecycle from estimating handoff through completion and closeout. + Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, budgets, and forecasts to ensure projects stay on track. + Coordinate daily with superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure work execution aligns with project plans. + Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to verify scope accuracy and compliance with project requirements. + Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes to support project timelines and quality standards. + Track project costs, monitor financial performance, and identify risks or cost-saving opportunities. + Lead internal, client, and subcontractor project meetings and provide consistent, clear status updates. + Ensure adherence to safety standards, quality control procedures, and company policies on every project. + Handle project documentation, including Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, and contract administration. + Coordinate and process change orders to accurately capture scope changes and associated costs. + Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, and key stakeholders to support repeat business and project success. Essential Skills + 3-8 years of concrete construction experience, including hands-on exposure to concrete pours, slabs, rebar, and foundations. + Proven project management experience in construction, with responsibility for schedule, budget, and scope control. + Strong understanding of concrete construction methods, sequencing, and field operations. + Experience managing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract administration. + Ability to develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. + Demonstrated capability to coordinate with superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and vendors. + Solid knowledge of construction documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts. + Effective communication and leadership skills for leading meetings and providing status updates. + Bachelor's degree in construction or a closely related field. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience working with general contractors and multiple stakeholders on complex concrete projects. + Proven ability to identify project risks and cost-saving opportunities. + Strong relationship-building skills with clients and project partners. + Interest in long-term career growth into a senior project management role. Work Environment This role supports concrete construction projects and operates in both office and field settings. Typical hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., aligning with active construction schedules and coordination needs. The position involves regular interaction with superintendents, field crews, subcontractors, and vendors, as well as participation in project meetings with internal teams and clients. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Newark, NJ. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
