Armadillo Woodworks is a custom architectural and ornamental woodwork shop serving high-end residential architects and interior designers in the New York market. We work on the kind of projects most millwork shops never see, for clients who notice the difference. We're looking for an Assistant Project Manager to work alongside our PMs and help keep projects moving cleanly from contract through installation. What the role involves Tracking timelines, budgets, and deliverables across active projects. Coordinating with designers, GCs, vendors, and the shop floor. Preparing and maintaining submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings. Supporting procurement, proposals, and change orders and handling the general office work that keeps a small team running, including phones, email, records, and scheduling. This is a real seat at the table. You'll see how a job is won, built, and delivered, and you'll have direct exposure to the designers and architects whose names you've seen in magazines. Duties Assist in developing project timelines, budgets, and resource allocations to ensure smooth workflow. Coordinate with team members, clients, and vendors to facilitate effective communication and project updates. Track project progress using tools like Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, updating status reports regularly. Manage administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, proofreading documents, and maintaining project documentation. Support office management activities, including calendar management, scheduling meetings, and handling multi-line phone systems. Maintain organized records of project files, correspondence, invoices, and other essential documentation. Experience Someone with at least 2 years in project coordination, ideally in millwork, metalwork, construction, or a related custom fabrication environment. Comfortable in Microsoft Office and quick to pick up project management software. AutoCAD or 3D software experience is a real plus. You write clearly, communicate well, and can hold multiple threads at once without dropping any of them.
