Job Description
Description We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects. This role is ideal for an organized individual who can coordinate project activities, monitor budgets and schedules, and maintain strong communication with internal teams and external partners. The position offers the opportunity to contribute across the full project lifecycle, from preconstruction planning through closeout, while helping keep work aligned with quality, cost, and timeline expectations. This is an onsite position. We are looking for 2+ years of experience within General Contracting and project assisting.
Responsibilities:
Coordinate project activities from early planning and estimating through construction execution and final completion.
Assist in building and maintaining project budgets, reviewing cost activity, and supporting payment approvals and financial reporting.
Work closely with project leadership, coordinators, and field teams to keep assignments organized and project milestones on track.
Support the preparation and administration of subcontractor and vendor agreements, including documentation for contract changes.
Communicate with clients, design professionals, consultants, and governing agencies to help move projects forward efficiently.
Track project schedules, review progress against timelines, and help address issues that could affect delivery or cost performance.
Prepare clear status updates for leadership covering budget conditions, schedule movement, and overall project progress.
Contribute to client-facing efforts such as presentations, planning discussions, and relationship-building activities that support future work. Requirements
Experience supporting commercial construction projects in a project management, project analyst, or related capacity.
Working knowledge of construction estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and project documentation.
Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and other core project records.
Ability to monitor multiple priorities at once while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills for working with project teams, clients, subcontractors, and consultants.
Understanding of cost control practices, change order processing, and progress tracking within construction projects.
Proficiency with standard project coordination and reporting tools used in the construction industry.
