The Project Operational Risk and Wellness Manager will be responsible for oversight of the project safety disciplines and monitor day-to-day construction operations. Key Duties and Responsibilities- Instill Safety as a top priority by monitoring and maintaining a safe work environment
- Implement and oversee the Project Safety Program including the development of site safety policies and procedures
- Conduct training, including new hire orientation and safety meetings
- Monitor all heavy construction work for compliance with safety requirements
- Monitor and adhere to established budgetary guidelines, and ensure cost control measures are being followed
- Embody the Ames approach to Safety, being constantly vigilant of conditions and work practices, being empowered to stop all unsafe work
- Assess risk management and investigate incidents
- Provide and analyze project safety statistics
- Assist Project Manager with project setups
- Communicate with client and subcontractors
- Collaborate with regional safety team

- Five plus years of experience in a construction safety supervisorial role
- Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of civil construction
- OSHA 500 or equivalent preferred
- Degree in Occupational Health and Safety preferred
- Certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals preferred
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivational skills
- Must have a valid driver's license and successfully pass a security background screening Working Conditions
- Location
- This position is based out of our Western Area Office. Travel will be required to designated project sites.

- Participate in the development of the Project Quality Plan. Communicate and implement plan ensuring compliance to Ames' Quality Management System and project specific requirements.
- Responsible to ensure corrective actions are completed in a timely manner and verify effectiveness.
- Responsible for reporting and managing nonconformances, including deficiencies and NCRs.
- Identify, document and mitigate potential quality risks through pre-activity meetings and project quality walks.
- Review work plans and supplemental documents to ensure quality activities are incorporated.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance to Ames' QMS and project specific requirements.
- Work with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all quality documents and records.
- Coordinate and ensure compliance of third-party testing and inspection personnel.
- Foster and promote strong client relationships through open and transparent communication.
- Drive a continuous improvement culture by identifying and implementing best practices.
- Document project quality activities & performance per defined frequency.
- Train project team(s) on applicable QMS processes, including tools and system support.
- Report on project KPIs to measure quality performance.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues with vendors (suppliers & subcontractors).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
