Job Title:
Project Manager Job Description This role offers an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to lead multiple capital projects in Reno, NV, with the intention to convert to a full-time position. You will manage small facilities remodeling and asset replacement projects, typically ranging from approximately $250,000 to $5 million, and often in the $1-2 million range. The position focuses on delivering reliable, timely, and professional project management support while collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. A mechanical background and experience in biopharmaceutical or research laboratory environments are highly beneficial, and an engineering degree is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day project management support for multiple concurrent capital projects, from initiation through completion. Support project executives on multiple projects and assignments, ensuring alignment with overall business and financial goals. Develop clear and detailed scopes of work and project schedules for assigned projects. Identify and proactively address areas of concern related to project risk, logistics, budget, and scope. Coordinate and track all vendor Requests for Proposals (RFPs), ensuring timely responses and thorough documentation. Interact and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Prepare and update project status reports to keep stakeholders informed of progress, risks, and key milestones. Process project invoices accurately and in a timely manner, and maintain up-to-date tracking reports. Maintain organized files and documentation to support due diligence, financial tracking, and project closeout. Actively track each aspect of project performance against the project schedule and critical path to ensure on-time delivery. Coordinate the activities of subcontractors and manage the relocation of technical functions as required by the projects. Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements in a timely and cost-effective manner. Ensure a comprehensive safety plan is in place for each project and that all activities follow a safety-first methodology. Assist the Project Development Services team in meeting Adjusted Gross Margin (AGM) targets at both regional and national levels. Use project management tools and applications proficiently to support planning, tracking, reporting, and communication. Essential Skills Proven project management experience, including responsibility for capital projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, typically in the $250,000 to $5 million range, with many in the $1-2 million range. Strong skills in developing project scopes, schedules, and budgets. Experience coordinating and tracking vendor Requests for Proposals (RFPs). Ability to interact and negotiate effectively with contractors and subcontractors. Proficiency in preparing project status reports, processing invoices, and maintaining financial and due diligence documentation. Capability to monitor project performance against schedules and critical paths. Strong organizational skills and independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and manage a diverse workload. Commitment to safety and experience implementing and maintaining project safety plans. Proficiency with project management software tools and applications. Additional Skills & Qualifications Mechanical background or experience working with mechanical systems is highly beneficial. Experience in biopharmaceutical, biofarm, or research laboratory environments is a strong plus. An engineering degree is strongly preferred. Experience with small facilities remodeling and asset replacement projects. Familiarity with financial performance metrics such as Adjusted Gross Margin (AGM). Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively at all organizational levels. Ability to convert from a contract role to a full-time position based on performance and business needs. Work Environment This position is based in Reno, NV and focuses on capital projects related to facilities remodeling and asset replacement. You will work in a professional environment that involves frequent collaboration with internal teams, external stakeholders, contractors, and subcontractors. The role requires regular use of project management software and standard office productivity tools to plan, track, and report on project activities. Work hours generally follow standard business schedules, with flexibility required to meet project deadlines and coordinate with vendors and construction activities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Reno, NV. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $55.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
