$45/hr to $50/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. The Project Manager, External Manufacturing (EM), independently leads complex, high?visibility projects within the EM Strategy & Operational Excellence portfolio. This role requires a seasoned project leader who can operate with minimal oversight, drive clarity in ambiguous environments, and influence cross?functional stakeholders to achieve critical program outcomes. The PM proactively anticipates risks, accelerates decision?making, and ensures transparent communication across all levels of the organization. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Execution Independently lead multiple high?impact External Manufacturing projects, ensuring alignment with EM strategic priorities. Build, maintain, and execute robust project plans, roadmaps, and reporting mechanisms to drive program delivery with accuracy and accountability. Proactively identify risks, develop mitigation strategies, and escalate issues with well?formed recommendations. Bring structured thinking, scenario planning, and data?driven decision?making to complex project challenges. Strategic Coordination & Cross?
Functional Alignment Serve as the central point of coordination across EM, QA, QC, MSAT, Supply Chain, and external partners to maintain seamless operational execution. Drive cross-functional alignment by facilitating effective meetings, setting clear agendas, capturing decisions, and ensuring timely follow?through. Build strong relationships with leaders, SMEs, and CMO partners to maintain transparency and influence outcomes without authority. Operational Excellence & Systems Leadership Lead the development and maintenance of planning tools and shared databases to strengthen organizational consistency and information flow. Standardize program processes and introduce improvements that enhance team efficiency, data integrity, and execution discipline. Implement project management best practices and coach team members informally to elevate project rigor across EM initiatives. Communication & Stakeholder Management Deliver concise, high-quality updates for senior leadership, including rolling summaries, risk logs, dashboards, and executive briefs. Communicate proactively ensuring stakeholders are informed early, often, and with clarity on progress, risks, and required decisions. Maintain a strong ability to translate complex technical or operational information into clear messages tailored to diverse audiences. Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a physical or biological science; advanced degree (MBA, MS) preferred. 6-10+ years of project management experience in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or regulated operations environment. Experience leading complex cross-functional efforts with minimal oversight. PMP, CAPM, or other project management certification a plus. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Expert knowledge of project management fundamentals: planning, scheduling, resource management, risk/issue tracking, and governance. Strong proficiency with Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint, Point, Teams, and collaborative project tools. Exceptional communication skills:
able to influence, negotiate, and drive alignment across cross?functional teams. Proven ability to manage ambiguity, anticipate problems, and bring forward solutions with a proactive mindset. Highly organized, detail?oriented, and capable of balancing multiple strategic priorities in a dynamic environment. Operates independently, exercises sound judgment and consistently delivers high?quality work with limited direction.
