Job Description
Senior Project Manager - Construction About the Company Since 1994, our firm has been a trusted full‑service design-build contractor serving residential and commercial clients throughout the Hudson Valley. We specialize in custom homes, high‑end renovations, commercial construction, and restoration projects. Our reputation is built on craftsmanship, integrity, and long‑standing client relationships. As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who is ready to lead complex projects with confidence and precision. Position Overview The Senior Project Manager oversees multiple residential and commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is ideal for a hands‑on leader who excels in budgeting, scheduling, team coordination, and client communication. You will manage a diverse portfolio of work while upholding the highest standards of quality, safety, and client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Lead multiple construction projects from concept and estimating through final delivery and closeout. Manage project budgets, forecasts, schedules, contracts, change orders, and cost controls to ensure profitability and timely completion. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors. Conduct project kickoff meetings, progress meetings, and on‑site coordination to keep all stakeholders aligned. Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to identify risks, constructability issues, and cost‑saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards. Oversee procurement of materials, subcontractors, and long‑lead items to support project schedules. Mentor and support Project Managers, Superintendents, and field staff to strengthen team performance and professional growth. Maintain accurate project documentation, including reports, logs, billing schedules, and administrative records. Manage a wide range of project types, including custom homes, luxury renovations, additions, full‑scale remodels, commercial construction, tenant fit‑outs, and design‑build restoration projects. Essential Skills & Experience Minimum of 8 years of construction project management experience. Proven success managing residential and/or commercial construction projects. Strong understanding of construction means and methods, sequencing, and scheduling. Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain strong client relationships. Proficiency with construction management software and Microsoft Office. Valid driver's license. Preferred Qualifications Experience with design‑build project delivery. Familiarity with construction in the Hudson Valley or New York State. OSHA certification. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. Background working with general contractors. Hands‑on experience with preconstruction planning and estimating. Strong experience in both residential and commercial environments. Proficiency with project scheduling tools and methodologies. Experience managing change orders in active construction projects. Work Environment This role blends office‑based planning with on‑site project management across residential and commercial job sites throughout the Hudson Valley. You will collaborate closely with leadership, project teams, subcontractors, and design professionals in a supportive, team‑oriented environment. Our culture emphasizes craftsmanship, professionalism, safety, and delivering projects on time and on budget. You will have the opportunity to manage projects from start to finish, not just a single phase. Compensation and benefits are competitive and commensurate with experience.
