We fabricate high-end, technically demanding work for architects, designers, general contractors, and private clients. The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and according to scope. They will work directly with customers, vendors and team members, becoming the expert in a given project. Once a project is approved for production, they are responsible for managing the procurement of materials - including issuing vendor purchase orders, providing cut files and coordinating the logistics of material collection and delivery. During production processes the Project Manager will work with fabricators to answer questions that may arise, maintaining communication with the customer and ensuring that deliverables are achieved within the given timeframe. Responsibilities:
Review design intent of perspective project with client, providing guidance on materials, finishes (and their appropriateness to the intended application) and processes. Assess feasibility of design and redesign projects to improve functionality, including material, finish, structural integrity, assembly and installation logistics, shipping limitations, cost implications, safety hazards. Manage a draftsperson or, self-draft all phases of a project: design schematic, vendor drawings (water jet, plasma, machining, forming), in house fabrication drawings Co-ordinate with architect, builder and client to refine design and installation processes to ensure project remains within budget. Identify cost impacts to original bid value, estimate material and production costs of various design details and issue change orders, where required. Manage procurement process for a given project. Ensure progression of multiple projects, at varying levels of completion, at one time Safety advocate - leading the safety standards, company policies, and procedures Candidate requirements: Working knowledge of metal and wood fabrication techniques. Familiar with common metal production processes: Plating, forming, machining, etc. Familiarity with chemical patina. Proficient in Solidworks / Auto CAD. Proficient with Bluebeam. Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook and associated programs. Strong verbal and written communication with team members, vendors and customers. Job Type:
