  • Full-time Location New York State / New Jersey projects; periodic site visits required Reports to Principal Job Type Full-time About Urban Shift Urban Shift Relocation Services manages one of the hardest parts of redevelopment.
We focus on relocating residents during construction with clarity and respect so households are supported through every step of the process. We work on projects in New York City and the surrounding region, partnering with developers, housing agencies, and nonprofits. Our projects are hands on and detail driven. The work includes meeting with residents, explaining notices, coordinating moves, managing vendors, and keeping schedules on track. As we continue to grow, we are looking for someone to oversee operations across projects and ensure that our teams are executing consistently and staying ahead of the work. Role Overview The Project Operations Manager oversees day-to-day execution across multiple projects by managing on-site managers and ensuring that all aspects of the work are being carried out properly. The role maintains visibility into what is happening across projects, reviews the work being done, and ensures that project activities are progressing as planned and staying on schedule. This role also leads team coordination, including running weekly meetings, tracking action items, and ensuring consistent communication and accountability across projects. The goal of this role is to keep operations organized and consistently executed across projects. Responsibilities Oversee operations across multiple active projects Supervise on-site managers and provide ongoing guidance and oversight Lead weekly team meetings, set agendas, and track follow-ups Ensure team members are prepared with clear updates on outreach, scheduling, and open issues Track outreach to ensure all residents are being contacted and followed up with Review upcoming schedules and confirm that work is fully prepared and executable Ensure supplies, vendors, and logistics are coordinated in advance Monitor open issues, including resident claims and outstanding items, and ensure follow-up and resolution Identify gaps in execution and require follow-through from team members Maintain accurate and up-to-date tracking across projects, including status and schedules Review and approve project reports and maintain visibility into overall progress Serve as the first point of escalation for operational issues Troubleshoot project issues as they arise, including coordination with clients, vendors, and site teams Escalate issues to the Principal with clear context and recommended next steps Coordinate with site teams to keep work aligned with project timelines Conduct periodic site visits to maintain visibility into field operations Qualifications 3-7+ years of experience in operations, project management, logistics, property management, or a related field Experience managing staff or leading teams and holding others accountable to execution Strong organizational skills and ability to track multiple projects simultaneously Comfortable reviewing detailed operational work, including schedules, tracking, and logistics Ability to identify issues early and follow through on resolution Clear and direct communication style Proficiency with cloud-based tools and project tracking systems Pay and Benefits Salary range is $75,000 to $85,000 annually, commensurate with experience Health insurance (medical, dental, vision) Paid time off and sick leave per Urban Shift policy Remote role with periodic travel to project sites across New Jersey and New York, including upstate locations as needed This role is expected to transition to a hybrid, in-office schedule over time
