Position Summary We are seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead complex commercial, institutional, and federal construction projects from inception through closeout. This individual will manage multi-discipline trades, oversee strict compliance and security protocols, and act as the primary point of contact for sophisticated institutional stakeholders. Because a significant portion of our portfolio centers on high-profile installations and facilities on the west side of Cleveland, Ohio (including NASA Glenn Research Center and Cleveland Hopkins International Airport), the ideal candidate must reside on the west side of Cleveland to ensure seamless, daily on-site leadership and rapid response capabilities.
Key Responsibilities End-to-End Project Execution:
Lead all phases of construction management for high-complexity projects, including full-scale interior consolidations, secure facility buildouts, and heavy infrastructure upgrades (such as high-pressure utility distribution and specialized mechanical systems).
Client & Stakeholder Management:
Serve as the primary liaison to sophisticated client representatives, government entities, and institutional engineers, ensuring exceptional communication, strict adherence to contract compliance, and successful delivery.
Trade Coordination & Scheduling:
Manage, sequence, and coordinate diverse multi-discipline subcontractors (civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural) during critical shutdown, startup, and tie-in windows.
Site Logistics & Operations:
Oversee project execution within active, operational, and highly secure environments, ensuring zero disruption to the client's daily mission-critical activities.
Financial & Contractual Supervision:
Manage project budgets, detailed shop drawings, engineered revisions, material procurement, change orders, and regular cost-to-complete forecasting.
Safety, Quality & Compliance:
Enforce rigorous safety, environmental abatement, and quality control standards across all active jobsites.
Required Qualifications Experience:
Minimum of 7 to 10+ years of progressive construction project management experience, preferably working with a general contractor or construction management firm.
Project Portfolio:
Proven track record managing technically complex projects, such as commercial interior consolidations, laboratory environments, active airport facilities, or industrial utility infrastructure.
Federal/Institutional Familiarity:
Strong understanding of the protocols, documentation, and security clearances required for federal, aerospace, or institutional clients (experience directly managing projects for NASA, the Department of Defense, or municipal authorities is highly preferred).
Technical Literacy:
Ability to read, interpret, and manage detailed engineered drawings, structural revisions, and complex mechanical/electrical system specifications.
Geographic Requirement:
Must permanently reside on the West Side of Cleveland, Ohio, with the ability to travel daily to site locations in the immediate region.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred but not required; equivalent hands-on field leadership and project management experience will be fully considered.
