Job Description

Why Work Here We're a growing design-build company at an exciting stage — small enough that your work genuinely matters, structured enough that there's a real path forward. The right person won't just fill a role here; they'll help shape how we operate. Company Overview Gentry Custom Remodeling is a premier residential design/build remodeling company in central Ohio specializing in high-quality home renovations, additions, and custom remodels. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional craftsmanship, seamless client experiences, and projects completed on time and within budget. Job Summary The Field Project Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of residential remodeling projects in the field. This role serves as the primary on-site leader, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, to the highest quality standards, and in alignment with design specifications, client expectations, budgets, and timelines. The Field Project Manager acts as the main point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and internal teams during the construction phase. Key Responsibilities Manage multiple residential remodeling projects simultaneously, from demolition through final punch list and handover. Oversee on-site operations, including daily supervision of subcontractors, crew members, and trade partners (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting). Create and communicate detailed daily scopes of work for crew members and subcontractors to keep all trades aligned and on schedule. Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules to ensure timely completion. Monitor budgets, track costs, approve invoices, and manage change orders to maintain profitability. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety regulations, and company quality standards. Coordinate inspections, permits, and material deliveries. Conduct regular site visits, maintain clean and organized job sites, and enforce safety protocols. Serve as the primary client liaison: provide weekly updates, hold client meetings, address concerns, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Resolve on-site issues, conflicts between plans and field conditions, and anticipate potential problems to minimize delays. Verify that selections, materials, and installations match design plans and client approvals. Prepare and manage pre-construction conferences, punch lists, and project closeouts. Collaborate with the Office Project Manager to confirm project documentation, drawings, and subcontractor scopes are complete prior to job start. Use JobTread for daily logs, scheduling updates, and project documentation. Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 5+ years of experience in residential construction or remodeling, with at least 2-3 years in a supervisory or project management role. Hands-on field experience as a carpenter or in residential trades strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of residential remodeling practices, building codes, materials, tools, and safety protocols. Proven track record of managing projects on time, within budget, and to client satisfaction. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret architectural plans and specifications. Proficiency in project management software and basic office tools (Microsoft Office, Google Suite). Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Physical ability to work on job sites: climbing ladders, lifting up to 80 lbs, and navigating active construction environments. Preferred Skills Experience in design/build environments. Certification in construction management or related field a plus. Strong customer service orientation with empathy and professionalism. Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience, performance bonuses, vehicle allowance, health benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for professional growth. If you are a detail-oriented leader with a passion for transforming homes and delivering remarkable client experiences, we encourage you to apply!
