Job Description

About the Role We're looking for an Electrical Assistant Project Manager to join our commercial construction team in the Maryland, Virginia, and DC region. This role supports multiple projects from planning and procurement through completion—ensuring Quality, Safety, and Productivity (QSP) remain at the forefront. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow into a Project Manager role. As a key member of our project management team, you'll collaborate with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality electrical construction projects safely, on time, and within budget. What You'll Do Assist in managing, directing, and coordinating all aspects of assigned projects from award through closeout. Support Project Managers in serving as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders. Participate in project handoff meetings with estimating and business development. Review plans and specifications to understand scope, schedule, and budget. Develop and maintain project schedules, material tracking logs, and work breakdown structures. Prepare and track submittals, RFIs, contracts, change orders, and related documentation. Coordinate subcontractor and vendor activities, material procurement, and cost forecasting. Participate in internal and client meetings to track progress and resolve issues. Collaborate across departments to ensure alignment on deliverables. Apply lessons learned to drive efficiency and continuous improvement. Ensure all work complies with company safety standards, codes, and client requirements. What You Should Know 1-10 years of experience in electrical construction project coordination or management preferred. Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, drawings, submittals, and take-offs. Proven ability to assist with budgets, contracts, and client relationships. Prior field or electrical experience preferred; degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field a plus. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with scheduling or project management software (Procore, MS Project, or Primavera) preferred. Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills. Ability to work on-site in active construction environments and travel locally between job sites as needed.
