Job Description:
The Sr. VDC Coordinator is responsible for leading and managing the implementation of virtual design and construction (VDC) processes and technologies on complex construction projects. The Sr. VDC Coordinator operates with a deep understanding of VDC principles and practices. Develop and implement VDC plans and procedures for projects. Manage and coordinate the work of VDC team members on the project. Facilitate communication and collaboration between different project stakeholders regarding VDC processes. Use VDC tools and technologies to create and manage 3D models, perform clash detection, and generate other deliverables. Support the project team in using VDC to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality. Stay up-to-date on the latest VDC technologies and trends. Assist in other duties as assigned, relevant to the achievement of the position's and team's objectives. 5+ years of experience in a VDC role. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. Deep understanding of VDC principles and practices. Experience with VDC tools and technologies (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, BIM 360). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Must possess a valid driver's license and a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Fortis policy.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Industry BIM Certification (Revit Professional, CM-BIM, or related) is preferred. Experience with Design-Bid-Build, Design/Build, IPD and other modern contractual delivery processes encouraged. Experience using AutoCAD, Revit highly encouraged. Experience using cloud-based tools like BIM 360 Glue, Field, Team, & Docs encouraged.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS A
portion of work is performed in a professional office environment with frequent presence in the work areas of active Fortis construction sites (where wearing personal protective equipment is required) and within site office facilities. A component of role is stationary, often standing or sitting for long periods of time. Utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, etc. Communication with internal and external contacts, including speaking and hearing. May occasionally push, pull or lift up to 25 lbs.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Local travel to project sites required. Sporadic travel to remote sites required. All Fortis positions require some level of driving.
