Description Job Summary:
The CTL Project Manager reports to the Vice President of CTL Operations and manages the day-to-day CTL operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring the success of the CTL Operators by being responsible for field activities, managing operational efficiency, and fostering productive relationships with their team, contractors and customers. The CTL Project Manager will be responsible for forest operations and business development while contributing to the overall success and sustainability of Miller Timber services' operations.Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing and supporting the daily operations and success of assigned harvesting teams. Conduct reconnaissance of timber harvesting units, including operational planning and contract negotiation support. Monitor and ensure the effectiveness of harvesting, forwarding, and loading activities. Responsible for accuracy of daily production results that are reported and communicated to the management team. Conduct the daily planning, scheduling, and dispatching of log trucks. Coordinate with maintenance personnel to ensure equipment uptime and preventive maintenance schedules are met. Work with landowners to develop and execute short- and long-term harvesting plans. Support the pursuit and development of new market opportunities. Participate in project site visits, tours, and meetings with private, state, and federal agencies. Prepare and submit project proposals as needed. Collaborate with the COO, CFO, and VP of Operations to monitor and improve the financial performance of regional teams. Work closely with other Project Managers to coordinate personnel, equipment, and transportation resources across operations. Support wildland firefighting operations as needed; obtain and maintain RT-130 qualification. Coordinate with administrative personnel for submission and entry of contracts, personnel changes, and other required documentation. Review, monitor, and approve hourly employee time entries; make adjustments as requested by management. Assist other Project Managers with related duties, including travel to project sites across the country as needed.Requirements Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Forestry, Natural Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. 4-5 years of experience in forestry, logging, project management, or a related operational environment. Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and basic data entry/reporting systems. Ability to travel for multi-day assignments as necessary. Valid driver's license and insurable driving record required.Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving abilities in field operations. Knowledge and experience in timber industry, logging and/or wildland fires Experience coordinating teams or logistics in a resource-based industry Interest in long-term professional growth within forest operations and project managementWork Environment & Physical Requirements:
Work outdoors in various weather conditions and terrain. Occasional lifting of supplies (up to 50 lbs). Flexible hours, with occasional weekend and holiday work as projects are scheduled.Drug-Free Workplace Policy:
