This role is responsible for managing projects from pre-construction through final completion, ensuring exceptional quality, client satisfaction, budget control, and schedule performance. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about modern architecture, craftsmanship, and delivering outstanding client experiences. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Pre-Construction Participate in project budgeting, estimating, and value engineering. Review plans, specifications, and consultant documents for construct-ability. Identify holes in specifications and scope, per-contract. Develop project schedules by using critical path and milestone tracking principles. Coordinate inspections, and utility requirements. Oversee subcontractor bidding and ensure alignment with project scope. Construction Management Oversee multiple custom home projects simultaneously. Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, clients and financial institutions when applicable. Maintain project schedules and proactively resolve delays. Conduct regular site visits and manage quality control inspections. Ensure compliance with building codes, safety standards, and company quality expectations. Budget & Financial Management Monitor budgets, commitments, and project costs. Review invoices, change orders, and subcontractor pay applications. Track project profitability and forecast financial performance. Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining design intent and quality. Client Experience Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout construction. Manage scope and timeline changes with proactive change orders. Lead project meetings and communicate progress, schedule updates, and budget status. Manage client expectations and facilitate design and construction decisions. Deliver an exceptional client experience from groundbreaking through final walk through. Team Leadership Collaborate closely with field superintendents, site employees and company leadership. Mentor assistant project managers and project coordinators as needed. Foster positive relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants. Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, and craftsmanship. Qualifications Required 8+ years of project management experience in residential construction preferred. Experience managing custom homes, luxury residences, or high-end remodeling projects. Strong understanding of residential construction methods, building systems, and schedule sequencing. Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans and engineering reports. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software, Buildertrend a plus. Bluebeam, or equivalent experience a plus. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. Experience with modern architectural homes and complex residential projects. Knowledge of Portland-area permitting processes and residential building codes. PMP, CCM, or other construction/project management certifications.
