Mentor and support junior and support staff, contributing to their professional development and fostering a culture of learning and collaboration. Actively participate in internal and external project meetings, including occasional evening meetings, to ensure consistent communication and alignment among stakeholders. Demonstrate strong communication skills and self-direction by proactively managing tasks, anticipating project needs, and driving projects forward with minimal supervision. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective client interaction and team coordination. Ability to work independently with a high degree of self-direction while contributing effectively to a team. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience integrating building code and LEED requirements into project design and documentation. Familiarity with permitting processes and coordination with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ). Experience providing construction-phase services such as RFI responses, submittal reviews, and site observations. Background in community-focused projects such as schools, municipal buildings, and public facilities. Interest in working across the full project lifecycle from design through construction. Ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to a collaborative, cross-discipline team culture. Comfort participating in evening meetings as needed to support client and project needs. Work Environment This role is based in an office environment with flexibility for remote work as appropriate. You will work within a mid-sized, full-service architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) firm that offers design, engineering, and construction management under one roof. The culture emphasizes teamwork, cross-discipline collaboration, and close interaction with estimators, construction teams, and multiple engineering disciplines. The firm maintains a long-established, stable presence in the Mid-Atlantic market and offers exposure to diverse project types, including K-12 education, municipal, and corporate facilities.
