Project Manager Intern Reports to: Project Manager
POSITION OVERVIEW
Project Manager Intern a ssists Project Manager with tasks as outlined in the Key Duties and Responsibilities listed below. Project Manager Intern will report directly to the Project Manager assigned. There may be other tasks required as assigned by Management. On the job training will be provided.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
Assists with planning and scheduling engineering, installation, and subcontracting activities on large and/or complex systems or service installed jobs. Assists with review of new projects, and maintains current job plans and specifications Assists with maintaining construction schedules and coordinates task scheduling with other trades Keeps self, superiors, and subordinates informed of progress/status of projects Maintains all digital records relating to jobs including job status, material purchases, contacts, job changes, prints, submittals, quotes, needs assessments, packing list, email correspondence, and other control records Assists Project Manager with reviews of estimate or assist in estimating projects that the company is bidding Assist with quality assurance program to continuously improve customer satisfaction. Present a professional image of company when speaking to customers (all levels) Walks job site to ensure quality installation of company products and updates Project Manager of project status in documented format Monitors job status and controls job costs. Assist Project Manager with project scheduling Assist Project Manager with analyzing trends and forecasts Assist Project Manager with material requisitions and shipments Assist Project Manager with analyzing and preparing financial reports Attend meetings with Project Manager and take notes File records appropriately to document progress and milestones Training and development Assists Project Manager with Team Member training Keep records of the meetings and attendees Job Closure Assists Project Manager with required job close out documents Communicate with other departments to procure the needed items Ship closeout documents to their destination File appropriate records to indicate completion of project
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Required substance screening is required for position. Knowledge High school education or equivalent Working towards a BA in Business Concentration program of study Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior level student Have a valid driver's license with a good Motor Vehicle Record Must be 18 years of age or older Skills and abilities Excellent written & oral communication skills required Operate in a business environment and use proper business etiquette Able to operate technology such as laptop, smartphone, tablet Strong skills in Microsoft Office software suite Able to follow directions and working with little to moderate supervision
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to see, hear, speak and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and/or other customers; manual dexterity required for occasional reaching and lifting of small objects, and operating office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Team oriented work environment The office is clean, orderly, properly lighted and ventilated. Noise levels are considered low to moderate. Business casual dress code Site work job conditions are similar to typical construction projects Occasional commute to jobsites Management has the right to revise this description at any time.
