Local / regional project travel as needed Overview We are seeking an experienced and driven Controls Project Manager to lead Building Automation System (BAS) projects across commercial, industrial, and mission-critical facilities in the Toledo market. This individual will take ownership of full project life cycles-from kickoff through delivery-ensuring successful execution of controls projects involving HVAC systems, central plants, and integrated building technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical BAS knowledge with proven project leadership and client-facing experience. Key Responsibilities Manage full lifecycle BAS/controls projects including planning, execution, commissioning, and closeout Oversee project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure on-time and profitable delivery Lead project teams including controls technicians, programmers, subcontractors, and vendors Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring strong communication and relationship management Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation Coordinate installation, programming, and commissioning activities across multiple stakeholders Manage procurement of materials, subcontractors, and equipment Oversee system integration including HVAC controls, chiller plants, AHUs, VAVs, and plant systems Ensure quality control, safety compliance, and adherence to project standards and processes Support and guide troubleshooting efforts during commissioning and project execution Track project performance, financials, and reporting metrics Lead project meetings and provide regular updates to internal teams and clients Identify risks and proactively implement mitigation strategies Support business development teams with estimating, proposals, and scope development when required Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Building Automation Systems (BAS) / Controls 3+ years of experience managing controls or mechanical projects Strong knowledge ofBAS platforms such as: Niagara N4 Schneider Electric (EcoStruxure / SmartStruxure) or similar Experience managingHVAC controls projects including: Chiller plants Cooling towers AHUs, VAVs, and pump systems Solid understanding of controls programming, sequences of operation, and system integration Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus , and IP-based networks Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and client relationships Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills Preferred Qualifications Experience managing mission-critical or large-scale commercial projects (data centers, healthcare, etc.) OEM certifications (Schneider, Tridium/Niagara, etc.) PMP or equivalent project management certification Experience leading teams of technicians and subcontractors What We're Looking For A project leader who takes ownership from start to finish Strong communicator comfortable in client-facing environments Someone who can bridge the gap between technical controls teams and project stakeholders A proactive problem-solver who drives projects forward and mitigates risk early Compensation & Benefits Competitive base salary + bonus structure Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Career growth within a growing controls division Get job alerts Share Copied to clipboard Related roles Controls Engineer Austin
