Job Description

The Center for the Advanced Study of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) in the School of Education and Human Development seeks a qualified Project Management Professional 1. The incumbent will become part of a vibrant team of faculty, students, and staff conducting research on teacher learning in both pre-service teacher education programs, as well as in professional development settings. Projects focus on teaching across content areas, but some have a particular focus on elementary mathematics teaching. This is a restricted position. Continuation past the initial 12-month appointment is dependent upon satisfactory performance and availability of funding. This position is available immediately. In person and remote candidates will be considered.
Role and Responsibilities:
Data-Related Work Conducting interviews and classroom observations Organization of quantitative and qualitative data Engaging as a member of coding team Working with survey data Gathering information to track research progress Project Coordination Tracking and facilitating project work Organizing project meetings and events Drafting project protocols, agendas, and schedules Keeping research records organized and confidential Organizing on-site visits Reviewing budgets, estimating costs, projecting expenses Managing on-boarding of new trainees and program evaluation Communications Generating reports for schools and other outside partner audiences Coordinating partnership work Interfacing with faculty mentors and post-doctoral trainees Gathering materials and preparing annual and final reports to the funder, including budget justifications In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree required.
Experience:
2+ years of relevant experience required. Additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Preferred Qualifications Significant preference will be given to those candidates who meet some or all preferred qualifications. Candidates are strongly encouraged to submit a cover letter detailing how their experience and qualifications align with the following: Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Economics, Sociology, Education, or related field. A minimum of two years of education experience is required. Classroom teaching experience in elementary mathematics and/or language arts are preferred. A minimum of two years of instructional coaching is required. Coaching across a range of teacher experience levels and school contexts is preferred. Ability to troubleshoot technology issues independently is required. Mastery in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), G Suite (Google Calendar, Sheets, Docs, Forms, etc.) and web applications is essential. Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are essential. Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to multitask are required, as is attention to detail. Ability to take initiative and work independently, lead and facilitate cross-functional groups, and the ability to interact collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders and research team are all required. Ability to work under pressure in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining professionalism is necessary. Familiarity with Institutional Review Board (IRB) processes Experience with Box, Dedoose, Qualtrics, Canva, and project management applications.
Physical Demands :
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
Salary Range:
The anticipated hiring range is $70,000-$73,000, commensurate with education and experience.
Exemption Status:

This position has a term limit of 12 months after which continued employment will depend on department need and funding.
