Full Job Description Data Management Project Manager Location:
Charlotte - Hybrid (3 days onsite) Position Overview We are seeking a Data Management Project Manager to lead critical initiatives focused on process optimization and system modernization within a complex data management environment. This role will drive the retirement of legacy systems and the migration to a modern data platform, ensuring seamless business continuity and improved operational performance. Core Objective Lead the sunset of a legacy land ID generation system and oversee migration to a centralized Land Services Database platform, improving data integrity, operational efficiency, and system reliability. Key Responsibilities Project Delivery & Execution Lead end-to-end delivery of system migration and process improvement initiatives Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and dependency maps Define scope, timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies Track progress and implement corrective actions to ensure successful delivery Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with high-quality outcomes System Migration & Process Optimization Oversee transition from legacy systems to modern data platforms Ensure zero data loss and minimal disruption to business operations Drive process optimization and workflow improvements across teams Support integration of new systems into existing business processes Stakeholder Management Partner with Data Management, IT, and business stakeholders across multiple functions Facilitate regular status updates and executive-level reporting Manage competing priorities and resolve cross-functional conflicts Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization Risk, Issue & Dependency Management Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and dependencies Develop contingency and rollback plans for critical milestones Ensure proactive issue resolution and escalation management Leadership & Change Management Lead cross-functional teams without direct authority through influence and collaboration Facilitate workshops, working sessions, and decision-making forums Support change management and user adoption activities Promote accountability and alignment across teams Required Qualifications Education & Certifications Bachelor's degree required PMP certification preferred Agile/Scrum certification highly desirable Experience 10+ years of project management experience Proven success leading large, cross-functional initiatives Strong background in system migration, process improvement, or data management projects Experience working in complex, matrixed environments Technical Skills Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira) Advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and analysis Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid delivery methodologies Experience with budgeting and financial tracking preferred Leadership & Soft Skills Strong communication and executive presentation skills Ability to influence without authority across diverse teams Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong emotional intelligence and stakeholder management skills Success Metrics Successful migration from legacy system to target platform High stakeholder satisfaction and adoption rates Achievement of improved SLA and operational performance targets On-time and within-budget project delivery Effective risk mitigation and minimal operational disruption Screening questions: Do you now or in the future require sponsorship (e.g. H-1B)?
