Job Description
Job Title:
Director of Project Management Responsibilities + Lead the firm's project management function and establish best practices. + Drive improvements in delivery, efficiency, and profitability. + Align project management processes with firm-wide business goals. + Track KPIs related to delivery performance, financials, and client satisfaction. + Serve as Project Manager on select projects. + Provide executive oversight across building design projects. + Support teams in managing scope, schedule, budget, and risk. + Ensure consistency from kickoff through construction and closeout. + Identify and resolve high-level project and contractual challenges. + Mentor and lead project managers across the firm. + Develop training programs and growth pathways. + Set performance expectations and accountability standards. + Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development. + Foster a collaborative, high-performing culture. + Act as senior client contact on key projects. + Strengthen relationships and support business development efforts. + Partner with leadership to ensure successful outcomes. + Evaluate and enhance PM tools, systems, and workflows. + Standardize reporting and communication practices. + Lead continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce risk. + Oversee project budgets, forecasting, and profitability. + Support teams in cost management, fee structures, and contract execution. + Ensure alignment between project performance and financial goals. Essential Skills + Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field. + 15+ years of AEC experience, with a strong building design project background. + Proven leadership in managing project managers or PM teams. + Deep expertise across design, bidding, and construction administration phases. + Strong financial management skills including budgeting, forecasting, and profitability. + Experience with tools such as Unanet or similar. + Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Primavera, or equivalent. + Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills. + Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities. + Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. + High level of professionalism, integrity, and strategic thinking. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in architecture, Revit, construction documents, and industrial projects. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Detroit, MI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $170000.00/yr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
