Job Description

Environmental Project Manager Hybrid (3 days in-office / 2 days remote) An established environmental consulting firm is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to support and lead site assessment and remediation projects across New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical foundation who has recently stepped into project management and is looking to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage environmental investigation and remediation projects from planning through completion Oversee Phase I/II ESAs, remedial investigations, and NJDEP-compliant remediation work Coordinate field activities including soil, groundwater, and soil vapor investigations Review and interpret environmental data; prepare technical reports and regulatory submissions Serve as a point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies Ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget, and compliant with NJDEP requirements Provide oversight to field teams as needed (limited field involvement)
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in environmental consulting or related field 1-2+ years of project management experience (or leading projects/tasks) Strong experience with environmental site assessments and remediation In-depth knowledge of NJDEP regulations and reporting requirements Hands-on experience with groundwater, soil, and soil vapor investigations Field background with the ability to oversee site activities when needed Strong technical writing and communication skills
