POSITION SUMMARY
The University of Massachusetts Foundation is seeking an experienced NetSuite Implementation Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of its NetSuite ERP implementation. This is a critical role within the Finance team, responsible for managing all aspects of the project lifecycle — from requirements gathering and vendor coordination to user training and go-live support. The ideal candidate brings deep NetSuite expertise, a strong background in nonprofit financial operations, and a proven ability to manage complex technology projects in a mission-driven environment. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead end-to-end NetSuite ERP implementation, serving as the primary point of contact between the Foundation, implementation partners, and internal stakeholders Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, budgets, risk registers, and status reports Coordinate and facilitate requirements gathering sessions with Finance, IT, and operational staff to ensure the system is configured to meet organizational needs Manage relationships with NetSuite implementation consultants and third-party vendors, holding them accountable to scope, schedule, and quality standards Oversee data migration activities, including validation and reconciliation of financial data Design and execute user acceptance testing (UAT) plans in collaboration with functional stakeholders Develop change management strategies and lead end-user training programs to drive adoption Identify and escalate project risks and issues, proactively developing mitigation plans Provide regular project status updates to the Controller and senior leadership Ensure post-go-live stabilization and support, including issue resolution and optimization Document system configurations, workflows, and standard operating procedures REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field NetSuite certification (e.g., NetSuite ERP Consultant, SuiteFoundation, Administrator, or equivalent) —required Minimum 5 years of project management experience, with at least 2 years leading ERP implementations Demonstrated experience working within nonprofit organizations, with a strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles, fund accounting, and compliance requirements —required Proficiency in project management methodologies (PMP certification or equivalent experience preferred) Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills Ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with endowment management, investment accounting, or foundation finance operations — strongly preferred Familiarity with higher education foundation or public university environments Experience with NetSuite modules relevant to nonprofit or higher education finance (e.g., Fund Accounting, Grant Management, Fixed Assets) Prior experience with data migration, systems integrations, or business process reengineering COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
