Project Manager - Commercial Construction / Data Centers (Remote) Flexible on pay for right candidate Job Description This role offers the opportunity to lead a high-profile, $40 million commercial data center project while working 100% remotely from anywhere in the continental United States. You will act as an owner's representative and construction project manager, overseeing vertical commercial construction and data center work in multiple states, including Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and South Carolina. The position focuses on ensuring that complex, cutting-edge facilities are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards, while collaborating closely with general contractors and a highly supportive project team. Responsibilities Lead and manage a $40 million commercial data center construction project from inception through completion, ensuring all milestones and deliverables are met on time and in line with agreed standards. Serve as an owner's representative for vertical commercial construction projects, acting as a primary point of contact between the owner and general contractor throughout the project lifecycle. Oversee and coordinate submittals, ensuring approximately 30% of your time is dedicated to preparing, reviewing, and submitting documentation into the project database accurately and on schedule. Manage the Request for Information (RFI) process, dedicating around 20% of your time to creating, tracking, and resolving RFIs to maintain clarity and momentum on the project. Participate actively in meetings, including bid reviews, general contractor meetings, and various subcontractor meetings, accounting for about 20% of your time, to align stakeholders and address issues promptly. Monitor project schedules and progress, ensuring that all phases of vertical commercial construction and data center work remain aligned with the overall project plan. Manage and direct general contractors on vertical commercial construction and data center projects, ensuring they meet contract requirements, quality expectations, and safety standards. Coordinate construction management activities across multiple locations, including projects in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and South Carolina, while maintaining consistent communication with all stakeholders. Ensure all project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, schedules, and progress reports, is complete, accurate, and properly stored in the project database. Collaborate closely with the broader project team, including construction management and general contractor personnel, to resolve issues and maintain a highly cooperative and supportive work environment. Proactively identify risks and issues related to schedule, budget, or quality, and implement corrective actions to keep the project on track. Support bid processes and contractor selection activities by participating in bid meetings and providing input on contractor performance and capabilities. Essential Skills 5+ years of construction management (CM) or project management (PM) experience in commercial construction. At least 10 years of project management experience if coming from the general contractor (GC) side rather than the construction management side. 5+ years of experience working specifically with RFIs, submittals, scheduling, and project management for vertical commercial construction. Proven experience managing general contractors on vertical commercial construction projects. Demonstrated experience managing data center projects or similar high-technology facilities. Strong background in construction project management for commercial and healthcare or data campus environments. Ability to manage complex documentation workflows, including submittals and RFIs, within project databases. Excellent communication skills for leading meetings with general contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders. Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities across different phases of construction. Ability to work effectively in a fully remote capacity while coordinating on-site teams and stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working on AI campuses, data campuses, or other advanced technology construction projects. background in healthcare-related construction projects, particularly vertical commercial facilities. Familiarity with owner's representative roles and responsibilities within commercial construction. Experience collaborating with high-performing teams on cutting-edge technology projects. Comfort working with geographically dispersed project teams across multiple states. Interest in working with leading technology developers in the AI and data center space. Work Environment This is a 100% remote position that allows you to live and work anywhere within the continental United States while managing projects located in states such as Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and South Carolina. You will collaborate with a highly regarded construction management team and general contractor, both known for strong mutual support and a high-performance culture. The work centers on cutting-edge commercial construction and data center projects for a top-tier AI technology developer, providing exposure to advanced infrastructure and innovative project environments. Communication and collaboration occur through virtual meetings, project databases, and digital tools, while on-site execution is handled by local teams that you will manage and coordinate remotely. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pasadena, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
