Job Description

Job Title:
PACS Project Manager (Upgrade & Change/Merge Specialist)
Location:
Milwaukee, WI (Remote - Travel required once a month)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) Project Manager to lead and coordinate PACS upgrade initiatives across our healthcare network. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise in PACS upgrades, workflow optimization, and a strong understanding of change management. Experience with patient or study merge/unmerge functionalities in PACS environments is highly desirable .
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, and oversee PACS upgrade projects, ensuring minimal disruption to clinical operations. Engage stakeholders (Radiology, IT, Vendor, Clinical End Users) to gather requirements and communicate project milestones. Work closely with technical teams to manage system configurations, data migrations, and integrations with RIS, EMR, and VNA. Coordinate and validate change and merge processes for patient and study records, ensuring data integrity and compliance. Develop and maintain project documentation, including project plans, risk assessments, and change control logs. Provide training and support to end-users on upgraded PACS features, focusing on change/merge workflows. Troubleshoot post-upgrade issues and coordinate resolution with vendors and internal teams. Ensure adherence to regulatory, security, and privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA).
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor s Degree in Information Technology, Health Informatics, or related field (or equivalent experience). 8+ years of experience managing PACS projects, including upgrades or migrations. In-depth knowledge of PACS architecture, DICOM, HL7, and integration concepts. Experience with PACS change/merge functionalities (e.g., patient/study merge/unmerge) is highly desirable. Strong project management skills; PMP or similar certification is a plus. Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management abilities.
Preferred Experience:
Previous hands-on experience with major PACS vendors (GE, Philips, Sectra, Fuji, etc.). Familiarity with clinical imaging workflows and regulatory standards. Experience in a multi-site healthcare environment.
