SCHEDULE
: Remote (100%). Needing someone local to the Seattle area.
DURATION
: 6 month contract with potential for extension or conversion Position Summary Lead and manage multiple concurrent power infrastructure projects across our client's fulfillment network, including utility upgrades, generator installations, switchgear deployment, and air permitting. Own delivery from feasibility through commissioning, ensuring timelines, budgets, and technical standards are met while coordinating cross-functional teams, vendors, and regulatory stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Manage 10-12 concurrent projects end-to-end (design, procurement, permitting, install, commissioning) Coordinate contractors, vendors, utilities, and internal teams; drive timelines and resolve blockers Ensure all equipment and installations meet Amazon technical specifications and quality standards Own switchgear procurement (specs, vendors, lead times, delivery, FAT) Manage air permitting process (applications, tracking, agency coordination, risk mitigation) Oversee electrical scope including generators (1-5MW), transformers, and service upgrades Maintain project schedules, budgets, and executive-level reporting Support site launches, commissioning, and safe energization
MUST HAVES
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Energy Systems, or related field Minimum 7 years of hands-on project management experience in electrical infrastructure, power generation, or utility-scale energy projects Familiar with field concepts, practices, and procedures including: Medium and low voltage switchgear (480V-15kV) Transformer sizing, installation, and commissioning Generator systems (natural gas and diesel, 500kW-5MW) Utility interconnection and service upgrades Power metering and protection systems Demonstrated experience managing 10+ concurrent projects simultaneously Experience with switchgear procurement (ordering, lead time tracking, specs, delivery coordination) Experience with air permitting (applications, tracking, agency coordination) Ability to verify compliance with owner/client technical specifications Proven ability to lead contractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams Ability to execute under compressed timelines Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically Proficiency with project management tools (Asana, MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
NICE TO HAVE SKILLS
Experience with Amazon or large-scale industrial/logistics facility power infrastructure Knowledge of natural gas pipeline design, metering, and pressure regulation Experience in CEQA compliance and non-attainment area permitting (California) Experience managing vendor proposals and procurement for generators Bckgrnd in commissioning and energization of critical facility power systems OSHA 30 certification PMP, PE, or equivalent certification preferred Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Bellevue, WA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $69.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
