Job Description
Rocket Software, Inc. is looking to fill a Principal Project Manager position reporting to Rogers, Arkansas (May telecommute part of time from home residence within Rogers, AR metropolitan area). Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent accepted) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field and 12 years' progressively responsible experience in an IT-related occupation. Experience must include the following specific experience and skills:
12 years' Senior level Project Management experience with a technology vendor or systems integrator, working with external clients and partners.
6 years' hands-on experience managing complex, enterprise-wide software implementation initiatives, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring successful phased rollouts.
6 years' experience, with qualified hands-on project management expertise in IBMi systems and MultiValue database technologies, including system maintenance, integration, and full application lifecycle support in enterprise environments.
6 years' experience in project management and product planning frameworks such as Aha!, Jira, and Bitbucket to manage cross-functional initiatives, sprint planning, and version control workflows.
6 years' experience in software development using Python, SQL, Power BI DAX, and Power Automate, including the development of data analytics solutions, automation workflows, and reporting dashboards
5 years' hands-on experience in Salesforce CRM, including the development of 25+ interactive dashboards and custom reports to support product lifecycle tracking, sales pipeline visibility, and renewal forecasting across enterprise-level portfolios
3 years' experience with modern business intelligence tools, including Looker and Power BI, for data visualization, dashboard development, insights analytics, and executive reporting
Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate across various functional teams and executive management including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical contributors
Ability to conduct / facilitate effective meetings, holding people accountable for follow up actions
The Principal Project Manager is responsible for managing the successful delivery of customer-facing Rocket product-related projects as well as planning/managing non-product initiatives. The Principal PM is able to take on complex projects at any phase and ensure alignment with all stakeholders on objectives, schedules and clearly defined milestones while keeping the project on track. The Principal PM provides full transparency into project status, provides well-formed data analysis, and holds team members accountable for deliverables. They are responsible within Rocket for the success of the projects they manage. The Principal PM is responsible for taking the lead and providing oversight to less experienced Project Managers as assigned. The Principal PM is able to independently manage large, complex, multi-workstream projects. The Principal PM is also expected to be hands-on, leveraging modern analytics tools, languages, and frameworks to help accelerate the delivery of projects in a timely manner. Projects can vary from technology refresh or upgrade projects to major transformations of business systems. During a project the Principal PM acts as the primary interface to the customer and Rocket stakeholders. The Principal PM is expected to master, follow, and contribute to continual improvement of the Rocket delivery methodology.
Manage strategic, highly complex business consulting engagements involving Rocket, partner, customer, and 3rd party stakeholders. Lead less experienced Project Managers, provide oversight and act as the primary contact for direction and escalation. Work with partner and customer Project Managers to ensure proper understanding of requirements. Align all project activities, schedules, processes and deliverables. Manage multiple concurrent projects and be accountable as a central point of contact throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate effective meetings, handle conflict resolution and create an approachable environment for effective team operation. Contribute to the establishment and transformation of effective project governance practices by defining project development process, project management tools, and workflows. Ensure project charter, goals, and objectives are defined and met, including security and compliance. Help define and document timelines, budgets, resource requirements, pre-requisites, key milestones and dependencies as well as risk visibility and mitigation to deliver quality outcomes. Collaborate with stakeholders for the creation of cross-functional interlock and implement supportive procedures to deliver on-time projects. Communicate clearly at various levels of the organization (including senior executives) with written, verbal and presentation skills. Provide business analytics and data metrics, reports on business unit products sales pipeline, revenue (includes ARR and One time), customer retention and forecast with regular cadence. Collaborate with the senior leaders to define and roll out OKRs, develop and maintain OKR metrics, track progress, identify risks, and drive corrective actions with stakeholders to ensure targets are met. Lead organization wide operational activities, including Tax Credit management, System disaster recovery assessment and other assignments. Lead monthly reviews to management and optimization on Hardware, Cloud and software resources, 3rd party licenses renewal to meet team needs. Leverage modern genAI and predictiveAI toolchains to improve team productivity resulting in better outcomes for the business.
