Job Description

Job Summary A well-established structural steel firm is seeking a seasoned Structural Steel Project Coordinator to lead complex steel fabrication projects from kickoff through final inspection. You will serve as the central point of coordination between clients, engineers, fabricators, and subcontractors — ensuring every project is delivered on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with AISC standards. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands the full lifecycle of structural steel — from shop drawings and detailing coordination through fabrication completion and final punchlist closeout. Responsibilities Coordinate project activities by scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and documenting minutes to ensure clarity and accountability. Monitor project timelines and milestones, providing regular updates to stakeholders and adjusting plans as needed to meet deadlines. Manage project documentation including reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence using tools like Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Tekla Facilitate effective communication among team members, clients, vendors, and other stakeholders through multi-line phone systems and professional phone etiquette. Assist with tasks such as data entry, proofreading, and maintaining organized records for easy access. Utilize computer literacy skills to prepare presentations, track project progress via internal software tools that ensure smooth workflow operations. Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of project management experience in structural steel fabrication or heavy structural construction.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AISC standards, specifications, and code of standard practice.
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a closely related field — or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency with project scheduling software.
  • Strong understanding of structural steel connection types and fabrication tolerances.
  • Familiarity with
AWS D1.1
structural welding standards and AISC Quality Certification programs.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present to clients and senior stakeholders.
Pay:
$55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
