JOB DESCRIPTION
The Project Coordinator provides organizational and logistical support to ensure the successful and timely completion of solar installation projects. This role is responsible for coordinating communication between internal departments, external clients, and regulatory bodies, and tracking timelines and logistics from the time a permit is received through final commissioning. This is a foundational role. An ideal candidate will bring best-practices with them and assist in refining our internal project coordination workflows. This role requires a "the ball is always in your court" mentality to keep projects on track.
RESPONSIBILITY
Facilitate the life cycle of solar installation projects from a building permit and planset through final commissioning and closeout. Coordinate internal teams (procurement, engineering, and installation) and external stakeholders (clients, AHJs, inspectors). Assist in developing and maintaining project timelines. Coordinate closely with the installation team to track project progress, identify potential delays, and support implementation of mitigation strategies. Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and communicating expectations. Maintain professional and clear communication internally and externally. Coordinate equipment and material procurement and logistics with the warehouse and installation teams. Schedule and manage all required inspections, and act proactively if the construction schedule must change. Ensure "One Source of Truth" is maintained in project management software, update site process, inspection results, and timelines daily. Career Growth This is a foundational role with a potential path to project management.
Future responsibilities may include:
Budget Ownership:
Managing project P&L and cost-to-complete forecasting.
Contract Management:
Identifying scope creep and executing Change Orders.
Subcontractor Management:
Vetting, hiring, and negotiating with third-party vendors.
Leadership:
Helping hire and train future Project Coordinators as our volume increases.
REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience in project coordination, preferably in the solar or construction industry. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to track and support multiple projects simultaneously. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required for client and internal team interaction. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., SmartSheets, Asana) and shared file management software (e.g., Google Drive, OneDrive). Proficiency writing formulas and creating reports in spreadsheet software (e.g., SmartSheets, Excel). Detail-oriented and capable of assisting in resolving complex logistical and scheduling problems. Proactive ability to recognise downstream consequences of changes or delays and act accordingly. High availability during work hours in both verbal and written communications. Prompt responses to emails and phone calls required. High school diploma or GED required, 4 year degree preferred Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment criminal, driving and drug screen. Must have a valid state driver's license
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
Full time hybrid role, 1-2 days per week in office minimum, Stockton or Placerville offices Project Coordinator I pay range•$25/hr. to $35/hr. Project Coordinator II pay range•$35/hr. to $45/hr. Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, Accidental Death & Dismemberment. Competitive salary at market rate, along with an IRA Retirement Plan with company matching.
