Construction Project Manager Location:
Burbank, CA (with travel to project sites) Reports to: Director of Construction Division Position Summary We are seeking a Construction Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and financial performance of multiple commercial construction projects. This role is responsible for managing projects from preconstruction through closeout, with a strong focus on budget control, client relationships, and overall project delivery . The ideal candidate will operate as the primary point of accountability for project success—balancing cost, schedule, and quality—while coordinating with field teams to ensure effective execution. Key Responsibilities Own full project lifecycle from preconstruction through closeout Develop and manage project budgets, including forecasting, cost tracking, and margin performance Lead client communication and maintain strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle Manage contracts, subcontract agreements, change orders, and risk exposure Oversee project schedules at a high level, ensuring alignment with client expectations and business goals Perform scope reviews and support estimating efforts during preconstruction Coordinate with Superintendents and field teams to ensure proper execution of project plans Identify and mitigate project risks, including cost overruns, delays, and scope gaps Manage project documentation including: Contracts, subcontracts, POs, Change orders, Lien releases, and closeout packages Ensure timely permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance in coordination with field teams Utilize project management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) for financial tracking and reporting Report on project performance, KPIs, and financial health to leadership Qualifications 5+ years of construction experience, with a strong understanding of field operations 3+ years of experience in project management within: Convenience store (C-store) Retail, restaurant, or multi-site commercial environments Proven experience managing project budgets, contracts, and client relationships Strong understanding of construction drawings, scopes, and cost structures Experience with permitting, city coordination, and project closeout processes Proficiency in project management and financial tracking software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills Preferred Traits Strong financial and cost management mindset Ability to manage multiple projects without losing visibility on risk or performance Proactive and solutions-oriented, with strong decision-making ability Client-focused with the ability to build long-term relationships High level of accountability and ownership Spanish language skills a plus Work Environment & Requirements Willingness to travel as required Availability to support projects outside standard hours when necessary Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to work in both office and field environments Why Join Maintco?
