Job Title:
Project Manager - Multifamily Interior Renovations Job Description This role leads multifamily interior renovation projects from planning through completion, with a strong focus on budgeting, scheduling, and coordination of multiple simultaneous fit-outs. The Project Manager oversees project financials, manpower, and trade partners, while leveraging technology to manage documentation, communication, and project controls in a hybrid work setting. Responsibilities Oversee all phases of multifamily interior renovation projects, ensuring work meets scope, quality, budget, and schedule expectations. Manage project budgeting and financials, including tracking costs, monitoring variances, and supporting financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. Plan and coordinate manpower needs, including internal teams and subcontractors, to ensure adequate staffing across multiple concurrent projects. Create, maintain, and update project schedules for subcontractors and trades, ensuring timelines are realistic, communicated, and consistently met. Coordinate and lead on-site and virtual project meetings as needed, ensuring clear communication of goals, progress, issues, and action items. Manage and track change orders, ensuring scope changes are documented, priced, approved, and incorporated into project budgets and schedules. Handle RFIs (Requests for Information), ensuring timely submission, response, documentation, and distribution to all affected parties. Utilize project management and construction software tools such as Procore or Buildertrend, along with Excel, Word, and related applications, to manage project data and documentation. Oversee and manage up to 20 or more fit-out projects at the same time, prioritizing tasks and resources effectively to keep all projects on track. Collaborate closely with ownership and internal stakeholders to align project execution with business goals and growth plans. Provide leadership and direction to on-site personnel and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative, safety-conscious, and results-driven project environment. Identify risks, issues, and constraints early and implement proactive solutions to minimize impact on schedule and budget. Maintain organized records of project correspondence, schedules, financials, change orders, and RFIs for accurate reporting and future reference. Communicate professionally with clients, trade partners, and internal teams, ensuring expectations are clearly set and consistently met. Essential Skills At least 5 years of experience in interior renovation projects within the multifamily sector. Proven project management experience in multifamily construction, particularly interior renovation work. Demonstrated ability to manage 20 or more fit-out projects simultaneously while maintaining quality and schedule. Strong proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and related productivity tools. Experience using construction project management platforms such as Procore or Buildertrend. Hands-on experience managing change orders and RFIs in a construction environment. Ability to effectively manage and coordinate people in person, including subcontractors and on-site teams. Strong organizational skills with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple tasks across concurrent projects. Clear and professional communication skills for both on-site and virtual meetings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with smaller, growing construction organizations where responsibilities are broad and ownership is closely involved in projects. Expereince in projects where the organization serves as both owner and general contractor. Familiarity with interior renovation projects in urban multifamily markets. Comfort working in a hybrid environment that combines remote work with periodic site visits and in-person meetings. Strong soft skills, including leadership, collaboration, and the ability to build effective working relationships with diverse project stakeholders. Work Environment The role operates in a hybrid work environment, with most work performed from home using project management software and standard office tools, complemented by visits to active project sites and in-person meetings as needed. Projects are multifamily interior renovations, with the organization serving as both owner and general contractor, and expanding into base build multifamily work. On-site work takes place in typical multifamily construction and renovation settings, requiring comfort with active construction environments and coordination with multiple trades.e Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Washington, DC. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
