Job Description
Project Manager - Capital Projects (Midwest Region) seeking a hands-on Project Manager to execute capital-funded asset replacement projects across the Midwest Region. This role is focused on execution excellence —taking approved projects and independently driving them through planning, construction, execution, and close-out. The Project Manager will have full accountability for scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality , working closely with operations, engineering, asset management, outage teams, contractors, and vendors. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in operational, regulated environments , is comfortable with loosely defined scope , and takes ownership of delivering projects safely and compliantly. Key Responsibilities Lead capital asset replacement projects from approved handoff through final close-out Manage project scope, schedule, cost, safety, and quality with minimal oversight Coordinate field construction activities, contractors, vendors, and procurement Plan and manage outages in collaboration with operations and outage teams Lead and participate in risk reviews, MOC (Management of Change) processes, and safety planning Ensure regulatory compliance, complete documentation, and audit-ready project close-out Align stakeholders across operations, engineering, asset management, and outage groups Proactively identify risks, resolve issues, and drive projects to completion Required Skills & Experience Core Skills Capital Project Execution & Delivery Proven ability to lead capital projects end-to-end, owning execution from handoff through close-out Field, Contractor & Outage Management Strong experience coordinating construction, contractors, outages, and vendors in live operational environments Stakeholder Coordination & Risk Control Demonstrated success aligning cross-functional teams while leading risk reviews, MOCs, and documentation in regulated settings Additional Qualifications Experience in regulated energy, utility, or pipeline environments Familiarity with compliance requirements, audits, and operational risk management Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and construction documentation Hands-on experience with systems such as: Oracle (procurement) Maximo (asset management) Outage planning tools MOC systems Strong safety leadership, accountability, and ownership mindset Ability to independently drive ambiguous scope to successful completion Why This Role Matters This position plays a critical role in maintaining safe, reliable, and compliant energy infrastructure . Why the Position Is Open This role has been created to support a growing portfolio of capital asset replacement projects . The organization is adding dedicated execution capacity to reduce delivery risk and ensure projects are independently driven to completion. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Superior, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $63.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
