This Project Manager of Strategy & Planning will plan, coordinate, lead, facilitate, provide status reports, and ensure stability of project management processes and methodologies. Establish and implement project management processes and methodologies to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high-quality standards, and meet assigned expectation. Identify and manage resources required to successfully execute projects by defining roles and responsibilities and arranging assignments for key project participants. Develop/define, publish, and execute project plan (e.g., Statement of Work (SOW), work plans and schedules, budgets, and deliverable/responsibility matrices. As appropriate to position, may serve as a consultant and advisor to leadership and staff in the application of quality improvement tools and methods. The Project Manager is the primary point of contact for a given project.
Required Qualifications:
Project Manager - Strategy & Planning Minimum of three years progressive work experience to include a demonstrated ability to achieve outcomes which may include managing multiple projects, business process analysis, or process improvement projects required. High school education or equivalent is required. Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare/nursing administration, industrial engineering, industrial/organizational psychology, organizational development, or related field, OR Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute OR Green Belt certification OR Black Belt certification from the American Society of Quality (ASQ) by July 1, 2015 required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to facilitate conversations and understand role as facilitator required. Ability to lead, motivate, and direct a workgroup required
Preferred Qualifications:
Project Manager - Strategy & Planning
  • Based on project needs and position available, project management experience in information technology, industrial engineering, supply chain, or healthcare quality improvement preferred.
  • Healthcare experience and a general understanding of healthcare business functions preferred.
  • Knowledge and application of DMAIC and Lean principles is preferred.
  • Prior formal management and construction project management experience preferred.
  • Prior work experience with the design and application of computerized process simulation preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Principles preferred.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, healthcare/nursing administration, industrial engineering, industrial/organizational psychology, organizational development, or related field preferred.
  • Formal class work in basic statistics preferred.
  • Project Management Institute certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Training and/or certification preferred.
  • Formal class work in basic statistics preferred.
  • Experience with Lean Principles preferred.
  • Project management skills preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management software preferred.
  • Ability to elicit cooperation and facilitate conversations from a wide variety of sources including team members and other departments preferred.
  • Emotional intelligence traits (i.e., patience, listening, self-reflective, thoughtful, ability to build trusting relationships, reasoning and understanding) preferred.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision preferred.
  • Possess the ability to be flexible to a changing environment, acknowledging urgency when necessary preferred.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial preferred.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion in confidential matter preferred.
  • React to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently preferred.
  • Flexible during times of change preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills preferred.
  • Ability to understand and document business requirements if necessary preferred.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license only as required in accordance with appropriate degree preferred.
  • Project Management Institute certification or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Green Belt or Black Belt Training and/or certification preferred.
