Full Job Description Description:
The National Pork Board is seeking a Project Manager, Swine Health & Production to support the planning, coordination, and execution of strategic swine health initiatives that help protect the U.S. pork industry from foreign, emerging, and domestic diseases. This role serves as a central coordinator across the Swine Health & Production team, working closely with producers, veterinarians, researchers, state pork associations, and industry stakeholders to align priorities, track progress, and support collaborative initiatives. Responsibilities Manage and coordinate projects from planning through implementation. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, dashboards, meeting schedules, and reporting tools. Track priorities, deliverables, risks, and opportunities across multiple swine health initiatives. Support projects related to foreign animal disease prevention, emerging disease response, PRRSV and PEDV elimination, and pathogen reduction efforts. Facilitate communication and collaboration among internal teams and external stakeholders. Utilize Wrike and other project management tools to organize workflows and reporting. Participate in advisory committee meetings, working groups, and industry collaborations.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Project Management, Animal Science, Veterinary Medicine, Agricultural Business, Public Health, or related fields preferred. 3-5 years of experience in project management, agriculture, animal health, research coordination, or related fields preferred. Experience in the swine industry, animal health, or pork production strongly preferred. PMP, CAPM, or equivalent certification preferred. Skills Strong organization, communication, and project coordination skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative mindset with strong stakeholder engagement skills. Proactive problem solver with the ability to adapt in evolving situations. Familiarity with Wrike, Microsoft Teams, and SharePoint preferred. Travel Ability to travel 15%-20% domestically for industry meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagement activities. National Pork Board's home office is in Clive, Iowa. Preference will be given to candidates that can work a hybrid schedule (at least 3 days per week) in the Clive office, however remote candidates may be considered. However, individual salary decisions take into account a variety of factors including but not limited to: business and local market considerations, internal equity, and overall candidate skills, education and experience. The National Pork Board has responsibility for Checkoff-funded research, promotion and consumer information projects and for communicating with pork producers and the public.
