Job Title:
Project/Program Manager III Job Description The Project/Program Manager III leads the coordination and successful completion of complex technology and integration projects, with a focus on physical distribution and fulfillment systems deployed globally. This role oversees all aspects of assigned projects and programs, including planning, scheduling, execution, and reporting, while ensuring that solutions meet defined project goals, timelines, and quality standards. The position requires close collaboration with highly skilled engineers, as well as direct interaction with external equipment vendors, customers, and partners. Drawing on extensive experience and sound judgment, the Project/Program Manager III balances scope, schedule, and resources, proactively mitigates risks, and maintains control over engineering deliverables to minimize disruption to support teams. Responsibilities Coordinate and drive the end-to-end completion of assigned projects and programs, ensuring delivery against agreed scope, schedule, and quality targets. Oversee all aspects of project and program execution, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and issue resolution. Set clear deadlines, define milestones, and assign responsibilities to project team members and stakeholders to ensure accountability and progress. Monitor project and program performance, track progress against plans, and summarize status for stakeholders on a regular basis. Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for upper management that communicate project and program status, risks, issues, and recommended actions. Lead and direct the work of cross-functional teams, including engineers and other contributors, to ensure alignment with project goals and technical requirements. Collaborate with external equipment vendors, customers, and partners to coordinate design, development, integration, and delivery activities. Apply a solid understanding of design approaches and industry technologies used in fulfillment and distribution center systems to guide project decisions. Manage overall project schedules, proactively identify potential delays, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track. Control the scope of engineering deliverables to prevent scope creep and ensure that changes are evaluated, documented, and managed appropriately. Support and manage change orders, including assessing impacts on scope, schedule, and resources, and communicating changes to relevant stakeholders. Utilize a wide degree of creativity and latitude to solve complex problems, remove obstacles, and optimize project outcomes. Perform a variety of project-related tasks as needed, adapting to changing priorities and requirements throughout the project lifecycle. Rely on extensive experience and professional judgment to plan, prioritize, and accomplish project and program goals effectively. Report to a manager or head of a unit or department, providing timely updates and recommendations to support strategic decision-making. Essential Skills Proven project management experience, with at least 7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Strong background in coordinating and completing complex projects and programs from initiation through closure. Demonstrated ability to oversee all aspects of projects and programs, including planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting. Experience setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and managing cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives. Ability to prepare clear, comprehensive status reports and updates for upper management and key stakeholders. Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices, and procedures related to project and program management. Experience working with construction or construction management in the context of distribution or fulfillment systems. Ability to manage and process change orders, including assessing impacts and coordinating necessary adjustments. Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to rely on extensive experience to plan and accomplish goals. Proven capability to lead and direct the work of others in a collaborative, results-oriented environment. Comfort operating with a wide degree of creativity and latitude to address complex project challenges. Solid understanding of design approaches and industry technologies used in fulfillment and distribution center designs. Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including working with external vendors, customers, and partners. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is typically required. Experience managing technology or integration projects related to physical distribution systems is highly beneficial. background working with or alongside highly skilled engineering teams in the design, development, and delivery of technical solutions. Experience in environments involving fulfillment centers, distribution centers, or similar industrial or logistics facilities. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Arlington, VA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
