Position Summary The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful execution of every awarded project at VMA Electric. This role oversees the full project lifecycle across both Residential and Commercial Construction divisions — from pre-construction coordination through final client sign-off — ensuring jobs are delivered on time, within budget, and to VMA Electric's quality standards. The Senior Project Manager works closely with field leads, the estimating team, and Field Logistics to eliminate execution gaps and protect job margins. This position reports directly to the CEO. Performance Objectives Manage all awarded projects across Residential and Construction divisions from contract execution through final billing, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery Maintain project schedules with zero tolerance for unplanned delays; identify critical path risks weekly and resolve before they impact crews or clients Oversee subcontractor coordination, material procurement alignment with Field Logistics, and job site readiness for every active project Conduct weekly project status reviews with field leads, documenting progress, open issues, and schedule variance in ServiceTitan Maintain real-time project financial dashboards tracking labor hours, material costs, and margin performance versus estimate on every active job Lead project closeout process — punchlists, inspections, final billing, and client sign-off — within 10 business days of substantial completion Develop and mentor junior project coordinators, building organizational depth within the project management function Represent VMA Electric professionally in all client, GC, and inspector interactions throughout the project lifecycle Key Competencies Manages multiple concurrent projects across divisions without losing track of schedule, scope, or financial performance on any single job Reads and interprets electrical plans, specifications, and contracts to identify scope, exclusions, and change order triggers before they impact field crews Holds subcontractors and crews accountable to schedule and quality standards without creating conflict; resolves issues quickly and professionally Understands job cost structures; labor, material, overhead and monitors real-time margin against estimate with precision Pursues change orders as billable events with proper documentation; never absorbs scope without written authorization Communicates clearly and proactively with clients, GCs, and ownership; surfaces problems early rather than managing around them Proficient in project management tools and AI to drive efficiency, reporting, and communication Leads through accountability — direct, respectful, and unwilling to accept chronic underperformance from crews or vendors Education & Experience High school diploma or GED required; degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field preferred MA Journeyman or Master Electrician license is a significant advantage OSHA 10 certification required — must be obtained within 60 days of hire if not already held Valid Massachusetts driver's license required 5+ years of electrical project management experience across residential and/or commercial sectors Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent projects from award through final billing Proficiency with project management platforms — ServiceTitan, Procore, Buildertrend, or equivalent — required Physical Requirements Primarily office-based with regular site visits to active projects across Central Massachusetts Ability to walk through buildings in various stages of construction, navigate uneven surfaces, and climb stairs and ladders as required Occasional exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperature conditions typical of active construction environments Travels to project sites across Central Massachusetts; valid driver's license required All site visits conducted in compliance with VMA Electric's and the project owner's PPE and safety requirements Commitment to Diversity As an equal opportunity employer committed to meeting the needs of a multigenerational and multicultural workforce, VMA Electric recognizes that a diverse staff, reflective of our community, is an integral and welcome part of a successful and ethical business.
